For A Little Monster

Just popping in with a quick card today....I was up most of the night with not one, but TWO sick kiddos :( I swear, we can't seem to kick whatever this bug is that seems to love our house right now. I took them to the doctor today and one has an ear infection and the other has bronchitis....hopefully the antibiotics take effect quickly so they are okay by Easter.
Luckily I made this {Paper Makeup Stamps} card last week because I have a feeling my lack of craft time isn't changing anytime soon!! I colored {Baby Horatio} with colored pencils...by the way he is on sale right now ;) He looks so peaceful floating among the clouds...I could use a nap like that right now!

Happy Spring H{ippity} Hop

Hello all!! Sorry I didn't have very many blog posts last week. I feel really out of touch with the craft world these days. My google reader is so overloaded it's crazy.
I'm currently taking a World Politics class and this teacher pretty much told us on the first day of class that it's almost impossible to get an A. I hate teachers like that....all it did was fire me up!!! I dove in head first and have been studying overtime to get an A. So far, so good, but I don't have near the time in my craft room I would like. Luckily I only have two weeks left :)
I did manage to make this weeks H{ippity} Hop Challenge card which was a good thing since I'm the hostess :)
I challenged everyone to make a spring or easter theme card, I used {Sweet Thoughts of Spring} for my card:
I picked up some MORE of my favorite gingham ribbon in five new colors at Hobby Lobby last week, one of them was this yellow. It went perfect with this new paper from Crate Paper. I used this weeks {Mojo Monday Sketch} for today's card. I decided on the square version since round just doesn't seem to work for me :)

Bright Polka Dot Dino

I seem to be using bright, bold colors a lot here lately. Maybe it's in anticipation of the warm weather or maybe it's just because these were the scrap colors I had laying on my desk so I went with it?! I've been wanting to get this dino from {Paper Makeup Stamps} inky ever since I saw {THIS ONE} from my fellow dt member {Amber}. I decided to keep mine kind of gender neutral however, since I always have a lot of little kiddo birthday parties.

H{ippity} Hop

Hello there!! I haven't used that sentiment yet from the {ippity} set {Sweet Thoughts of You} so I decided it was time. This is my hello to spring card :) This Colorado weather can't decide between spring and winter. Today: spring, later this week: winter. I'm so ready for all the snow to stay gone so I can start seeing all these beautiful colors in my garden.
Today's card is for this week's H{ippity} Hop challenge. {Michelle} challenged us to use chipboard. I don't use it on cards near enough. The big oval sentiment is chipboard that I covered with dp for the sentiment. It worked perfect for this weeks {Mojo Monday Sketch}.
Make sure you go by the {ippity} blog to see all the cards from this weeks participants :)

Digi Scrapping

I'm back.....barely! I still feel really terrible and have a CRAZY busy day ahead. I don't think I've ever had a cold that has knocked me under this bad...I can hardly function :(
I haven't been in my craft room for over a week and half and I'm running out of stuff to show you all. Last night, amidst a pile of tissues, I made this digi scrapbook layout of my daugther Mattea.
Don't you just LOVE all the fun elements I used......want them....FOR FREE!!! I'm so proud to say that my COUSIN Charity designed ALL these elements and she just started a blog and everything you see here is available as a FREEBIE on her blog. You can check it out {HERE}. I'm so happy to have someone crafty who blogs in my family. My mom and sister just don't get it...hehe :) Stop by and tell her how much you love her stuff....she is just getting started and I can't wait to see what else she creates. I needed to get creative and she gave me just the outlet I needed....thanks Charity :)

Easter Scrapbook Layout

I'm finally getting a little bit caught up on my son's scrapbook album. I'm getting close to being only a year behind....
I made this Easter layout using the {ippity} stamp set {Sweet Thoughts of Spring}. I just LOVE that bunny!! I wanted to keep this layout simple so I stamped the bunny on Basic Grey cardstock and colored in a few parts with a white gel pen. I added a rhinestone jewel to the flower center. I stamped the spring stamp repeatedly on the yellow cardstock to make a subtle background.
I just love the scallops in this set but I find that I uset this one the most.
Sorry for another quick post but this week is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!!!!

Music Of My Heart

Okay, I'm making this a quick post today!! I have a paper due this week and am volunteering with a Literacy Carnival for my daughters school. On top of all this I'm getting sick :( I thought the cold the kids had was going to skip me but it finally got to me. I have a sore throat and my heads feels like it's going to pop!!
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Hopefully this bright card can perk up my day!! I used the {ippity} stamp set {Music of My Heart}

Feeling Green H{ippity} Hop

Looks like all the best challenges this week focus on GREEN!! The first, of course, is the FABULOUS
H{ippity} Hop. Lisa decided we should make a green and neutral card for this weeks challenge. I wasn't sure which neutral to use (I was leaning towards black) but then I saw this fabulous {Tuesday Trigger} photo and everything just clicked.I love the soft cream with the green so I came up with this! Can you believe I DIDN'T use gingham!!!This FABULOUS sketch is also this weeks {Mojo Monday Sketch} and WOW do I love it! This was the sketch for March that I thought was going to throw me for a loop but I LOVE all the elements of it. I did forget about the scallop edge until after my whole card was together so I slide a tiny strip of Kiwi Kiss cardstock in...hehe...I tried ;)

I forgot just how much I LOVED that Kiwi Kiss Stampin Up ribbon...I wish they still carried it!!

MY Makeup For The Weekend Challenge

If you follow my blog regularly than you know how much I love the colors Red and Blue....even yesterday's card had both. I don't intentionally make cards with these colors...it just happens. I love them and they are definately my go to colors when my mojo is failing me, or when I want to create something I know I'm going to love.
It's my turn to host the {Makeup 4 The Weekend Challenge} and I chose the colors:
Red, Blue and Kraft
Here is my sample: I used another fave of mine for this card, the set {Raindrops and Rainbows} from {Paper Makeup Stamps}. I used the Dahlia nestabilies to cut out the sentiment. The yummy papers are from Cosmo Cricket.
Feel free to play along and then link your card up on the {Paper Makeup Blog}, I can't wait to see what everyone makes. There is a list of dt members playing along on the blog too.

Here's The Story

I ordered some new papers last week!! These ones from Jillibean Soup are probably some of my favorites :) I couldn't decide which flower print I liked the most...the red or the blue...so I decided to use them both :) I didn't have a plan of attack for this card other than just to use these papers!! As I was flipping through my {ippity} stamps, the stamp from {Love In Return} that says "The Story" caught my eye. It hadn't seen ink yet because I wasn't sure what to do with it. This idea came to me and I thought it might be a cute card to send to a girlfriend to dish on some new gossip....hehe. Now I just need some good dirt to spill....

School House Thanks

I'm getting braver with color challenges. This one was way out of my comfort zone.....WAY!!!!!! Cobalt blue, Purple, Grey and Gold are colors I would NEVER put together....EVER...hehe.
I was super shocked at just how much I like this card. I had to hide most of the blue to make it work, which was surprising since the purple was the scariest color.
The school image is from the {Unity KOTM Following My Heart} and the other stamps are from the {ippity} sets {Sweet Thoughts of You} and {Music of My Heart}

GO!

I made another No Stamping Required card using October Afternoon. The paper is from the Farm Fresh collection and the cute little die cuts are from the Road Maps collection. I just adore the paper with the cow on it and hated to cover it up...so I decided to make a little scene and show of the animals. I ended up covering more of them then I intended with the Thickers but I think it still turned out cute :)

Happy H{ippity} Hop!!

I can't believe it is Monday...this weekend seriously flew by!! My parent's 30th wedding anniversary is today so I made today's H{ippity} Hop card for them.They were here over the weekend but I didn't give it to them because I didn't have a gift yet :) It's so hard to think of something for the two of them...I think I'll just do a gift certificate to a restaurant unless I can come up with a better idea!
Make sure you swing by the {ippity} blog to check out this weeks challenge and blog hop participants. This card used the week's {Mojo Monday sketch} as well and I LOVE it...make sure you stop by and play :)

Play Ball

I got a half dozen scrapbook layouts done last weekend and boy was it FUN!! I forgot how much joy I get out of making layouts for my kids albums. I'm really behind on my son's book because boy layouts are just harder for me, so I made myself only work on his photos. I've been admiring {Jen Erickson's} layouts for awhile, she's on the Unity DT, and love the clean, cute layouts she does so I decided to try it.
I absolutely LOVE this layout!! It's way simpler than I usually do but I love that. The two colors really pop and the photos are just too cut, imho ;) My husband was throwing a baseball (a soft one) up onto the roof and Miller was trying to catch it as it came down. It was so cute because he would get so excited because he had no idea when it was coming or from were. He never caught it but you can tell from the pictures he had fun anyway :)
Here are a few detail shots:
The sun and clouds are from the Unity KOTM {A Pocket Full Of...}
The letter stamps are from the {ippity} set, {Alphabettically Adorable}. I've always thought of these letters as a bit girly but they totally worked for this layout just by keeping them simple :)
I don't have close up's but the little bird stamp is from {Nothing But Blue Skies} and the corner stamp is from {Confession: I (luv) Unity}

Maculine H{ippity} Hop

Has anyone ever made a masculine card that they actually like?!?! I never have....NEVER! I would love to see ones that you have made that you love so link me up in the comments section if you have one to share :)
I typically avoid masculine cards but the lovely {Kelly} is our H{ippity} Hop hostess and her challenge this week is a masculine card....I tried!
I'm sure it's possible to make a masculine card that I will like and maybe I'm just going about it all wrong. I try to keep "feminine" products to a minimum and end up using a lot of products I'm not totally loving. Ugh!!!!
Make sure you check out the rest of the dt's cards because I'm sure they rocked it :)
Also this week's {Mojo Monday Sketch} is a challenge week so you'll want to get your cards in. I hope everyone else found more mojo than I did :)
