Yep...we've done it again...hijacked the {ippity} blog for a special lady!!
Happy Birthday Lisa!!!
TODAY is {Lisa Arana's} birthday and we couldn't let the day pass without making our cards special for her. Hope you love it Lisa...it's in the mail...PROMISE :)
When I sat down to craft I wanted to channel my inner Lisa and make a killer CAS card. Obviously I failed on the CAS part. My craft room...like the rest of my house...is in UTTER CHAOS. These papers were peeking through the mess and I went with it. The patterns are all random...no planning took place...just go with the flow creativity. Might have to try this more often...except I HAVE to clean my craft room...I don't know how you messy crafters do it. I was running for the door when this card was done...clutter scares me :)
I used this week's {Mojo Monday sketch} for the card and stretched it to A2 again. I didn't zig zag stitch each panel but I did on the side (it was a mistake cover) for some reason I couldn't stitch straight to save my life :)

Now head on over to Stephanie's blog to see her card for Lisa :)

I've been cover to cover three times already and I'm sure I'll go back for more inspiration. I was lucky enough to get a gift bag accepted for this issue...page 87.
I used the Unity Stamps:
Hope you have a great rest of the weekend :)

Friday, March 25th

This has been a CRAZY week...LOTS of work being done on the kitchen but I'm happy that we are FINALLY seeing the results of some of the hard work. This is a picture of the crown moulding we installed and a coat of primer on the newly stripped cabinets. I'll be putting on the third coat of paint today but don't have a picture yet.

I have a card today for {Friends with Flair} using one of the store kits {Sew Cute}.

Do you have any of the store kits yet??? There are some SERIOUSLY adorable kits...perfect for cards or scrapping. The two NEWEST sets are SCREAMING my name...can't wait to get to a layout. You can see all the current kits on the {Store Kits Blog}.
And {HERE} is a list of the stores that carry them :) Hope you have a good weekend...thanks for stopping by! 250

So I HAVE a card today but it's NOT for this week's
I have an excuse: We spent the weekend stripping the old cabinets in preparation for paint and the new countertop which is scheduled a week from today...YIKES!
Here is this weeks {ippity} challenge anyway...it's a GREAT final twist and I'm bummed I didn't get to it.
I've been submitting...submitting and resubmitting today's card for publication because I have to say it's probably my favorite EVER...but since no one wants it...I'll FINALLY share it here.
Isn't it HAPPY...I LOVE IT!!!
I used the {ippity} stamp sets:
I thought this card was appropriate to pair with one of my latest shopping finds...check these out
They were 50% off at Hobby Lobby and practically a steal! I promised myself I wouldn't hoard them but I've had them for almost a month and still haven't used one...soon...very soon ;)
Now head on over to Stephanie's blog were I'm sure she knocked this challenge out of the park.

Now onto my project :)
I bought this sign a month or so ago at my local dollar store:
Cute enough but I knew I would be altering it...this hop was the perfect excuse to get creative.
Since the theme is Home is Where the Heart Is...I thought it would be perfect to make something for MY home. Since we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and getting two of my kids rooms moved and decorated I had a few options but decided on my daughter Mattea's room. I'll be painting the walls a really like lavender and then white will be the other main color...with what else...pops of red and gingham :)
I think it turned out perfect!
I covered the magnetic board with paper and then painted the edges. I stitched and stamped and added eyelet lace and twine. I'm happy to report she loves it too!
The Unity Stamps set that I used was
an AWESOME co-brand with Melody Ross.
I LOVE this flower...I stamped it twice (once in green...once in purple)..cut around the outside and then popped up the purple flower with foam tape and added a cute red button to the center.
This border stamp was inked with my Stampin Up markers in red, burgundy and purple alternating. The lace and twine just helped soften the edges and cutesy it up :)
Here it is one more time with an older picture (3 in the picture...5 now) of Mattea on it...the cute little red magnets hold in on perfectly.I love that we can switch up the photo or she can add her art work too it.

Now you are off to {Meighan's blog} but here is a list of all the designers just in case:

I used the new release {Butterflies Are Free} set. Most of the papers are from {Sassafras Lass} but my favorite part...the butterfly...is stamped on {October Afternoon} yellow polka dots. No need to color...just stamp, cut and ta dah!!
Don't forget to stop by all the other girls blogs to see what they made:

Monday, March 14th {Post 2}

{Post 2 of 2 today...please scroll down to see my Rubbernecker preview card}
I've been eagerly anticipating this week's H{ippity} Hop inspiration photo. I absolutely LOVE this photo and need a few of these pillows...it's so cute! Everytime I looked at the picture I couldn't get past that big yellow flower so I made one :)The yellow polka dot paper is from {Jillibean Soup}. I cut a bunch of circles with my {Nesties} and distressed the edges before I layed them. I adhered them all a little off center just for a bit more interest. The leaves are from the {ippity} stamp set {Now and Always} and the sentiment is from {Fall for You}.
In the end I LOVE the great big flower and will probably be making more but the card feels a little unfinished. I tried a few different things but couldn't ever seem to fall in love with it. I think these flowers would rock on a scrapbook layout though :)
Now head over to see what Steph came up with for today's challenge.

Sunday, March 13th

{Rubbernecker Stamps} will be releasing NEW STAMPS on Tuesday the 15th. The design team is previewing some of the releases over the next two days!!
Welcome to DAY ONE!!
You will want to visit the FABULOUS design team because ONE of their blogs has a chance to win a $25 Rubbernecker Stamps gift certificate!
For today's card I'm using one of the MANY new flourishes coming out. I embossed them in black on the grey cardstock and stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment in between. The sentiment looks like grey ink but it's actually black...it just pales in comparison to the embossing. I couldn't resist the bright pop of pink...I intended on using pink stitching as well but my machine already had the teal thread in it so I went with it...I think I like it ;)Thanks for stopping by, enjoy all of the creations, and GOOD LUCK!!

Friday, March 11th

This card has been gathering dust in my computer files for far to long. I made it for a {Play Date Cafe challenge} WEEKS ago and forgot to post it...shame on me :( Not sure how I let that happen but it did. I LOVED the colors that week because they were so NOT me. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I forgot just how much I loved the swirly flower stamp.
Stamps used:
{ippity} set - {Regal Greetings}
Unity set - {It's Your Day} Now head on over to the {Unity blog} for all the other chicks hanging around today...showing off their Unity. AND if you haven't had a chance yet...go check out {Unity TV}. The AMAZING {Lesley Langdon} has worked hard to get the first tutorial off with a NEW one coming each week. Make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss anything!!
Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

Tuesday, March 8th

I'm joining in on the {rejection post blog hop}. Such a great idea. We all work so hard on submitting cards and then having them get rejected is no fun but part of the territory. I was lucky enough to get TWO accepted to the lastest issue of {Paper Crafts Magazine} and I was shocked to say the least. There were something like 2700 submissions....insane!!!! The acceptance letter day was creeping to a close and after stalking facebook ALL DAY...I gave up hope. I took out my disappointment on the kitchen.
A hammer, a flat head screwdriver, 30 minutes and two bandaids was all I needed to get the old tile backsplash down.
This is the before shot of the kitchen....after to follow in a few weeks :)
When I finished I found my happy email waiting in my inbox :)
But this post is about my reject right. I used sketch 81 for this card. I was actually going to skip this sketch because I figured lots of people would be using the button idea but these cute silver buttons were hoarded long enough...so I used them :) The sentiment is from the {ippity} stamp set:
{Where You Should Be}
